The University has degree programs in health sciences, natural sciences, human services, management, education and the liberal arts. The University includes Maine's only medical school, the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, which emphasizes the education of primary care physicians. Enrollments for the two campuses total 3,116, including 491 medical students. UNE also has several distance learning programs and a satellite nursing program in Israel.
